Brustan Suspension is used for temporary relief of pain associated with a headache, backache, migraine, period pain, muscular pain, dental pain, sore throat, cold and flu symptoms, and fever. This medicine works by blocking the activity of a chemical in the brain that causes pain. Brustan is also used to reduce fever. It is also used to reduce inflammation (redness, swelling, and soreness).
Precautions while using Brustan:
Before you use Brustan Suspension, tell your doctor if you are allergic to it or its ingredients. Your doctor may prescribe an alternative medicine and update your medical records to record this information. Tell your doctor if you are allergic to medicines containing aspirin, or NSAIDs (Non-steroidal Anti-inflammatory Drugs).
Brustan Side-effects:
The following side-effects may commonly occur when using Brustan Suspension. If any of these side-effects worsen or last for a long time, you should consult with your doctor:
- diarrhea
- dizziness
- excess fluids build up inside the body (fluid retention)
- headache
- heartburn
- increased alanine aminotransferase
- increased blood creatinine
- increased blood urea
How to Use:
Use Brustan Suspensionas per the instructions provided by your doctor.
Brustan is eaten with or after food. This medicine should be taken with a full glass of water.
The typical dose of Brustan for adults is 500 mg - 1000 mg of Paracetamol with 150 mg - 300 mg of Ibuprofen every 6 hours (not more than 3000 mg of Paracetamol with 900 mg of Ibuprofen in one day). The maximum dose for adult patients of Brustan is 3000 mg of Paracetamol with 900 mg of Ibuprofen per day.
Precaution
- Warning: Paracetamol may pass into breast milk but not in high clinical amount. Therefore, Brustan may be given for short-term treatment during breastfeeding.
- Younger Adults Population :Contraindicated or Not Recommended. Brustan is not recommended for children under 18 years.
- Older Adults Population: The lowest effective dose of NSAIDs for the shortest possible duration should be used in elderly patients.
