Dosage of Calpol Six Plus Sugar Free Suspension

This is an Over-The-Counter (OTC) medicine. The dose is determined by the child's age.

• Children 6 - 8 years: Give 5 ml (one spoonful).
• Children 8 - 10 years: Give 7.5 ml (one and a half spoonfuls).
• Children 10 - 12 years: Give 10 ml (two spoonfuls).
• Children 12 - 16 years: Give 10 ml - 15 ml (two to three spoonfuls).
• Do not exceed four doses in any 24 hours.

Proper Administration

• Administration: For oral use only. Use the syringe or measure cup provided to ensure accurate dosing.
• Frequency: Repeat the dose every 4 to 6 hours as necessary. DO NOT give more than four doses in 24 hours.
• Duration: Do not give this medicine to your child for more than 3 days without speaking to your doctor or pharmacist.

Shaking: Shake the bottle thoroughly for at least 10 seconds before measuring the dose.

Contraindications of Calpol Six Plus Sugar Free Suspension

• Known Allergies: Do NOT give if your child has a known allergy to Paracetamol or any other ingredient in the medicine.
• Severe Liver Disease: Do NOT give if the child has severe liver disease.

Side Effects of Calpol Six Plus Sugar Free Suspension

• Common Side Effects (Mild and Rare): Allergic reactions such as rash or itching. Very rarely, blood disorders.
• Serious but Rare Side Effects (That May Require Medical Attention): Seek medical advice immediately if your child takes too much, even if they appear well, due to the risk of delayed, severe liver damage. Look for signs of severe skin reactions, which require immediate discontinuation and medical help.

• Overdose Risk: This is a concentrated formula. Accidental overdose is the primary risk and can cause fatal liver damage. Always adhere strictly to the maximum daily dose and interval.
• Weight-Based Dosing: If your child is small for their age, consult a pharmacist or doctor who may recommend a dose based on weight rather than age.
• Chronic Conditions: If the child is taking other medicines or has existing liver or kidney problems, consult a physician before use.
• Fructose Intolerance: The medicine contains sorbitol and maltitol; children with hereditary fructose intolerance must NOT take this medicine.
